Graduate Program
I'm very thankful for the broad exposure TRLabs provided me. The technical knowledge and leadership skills I gained have helped our team develop some world-leading technology. This, along with the strong sense of TRLabs team work, has been a real asset in the challenging world of startups."

TRLabs is an accredited extension of five western Canadian universities: The University of Alberta, The University of Calgary, The University of Manitoba, The University of Regina and The University of Saskatchewan. Students registered in graduate programs in electrical and computer engineering/science at any of these universities can conduct the research portion of their degree requirements at TRLabs.
TRLabs offers scholarships for graduate students from affiliate universities pursuing research at TRLabs. For NSERC and other award holders, we offer supplementary graduate fellowships. M.Sc. students typically receive funding for two years and Ph.D. students for four. Students can also take advantage of paid conferences and travel, which provides the opportunity to develop professional presentation skills and keep abreast of latest research in their area of interest.
Student scholarships doubled in value September 1, 2007 to enable TRLabs and its member universities to effectively attract top graduate students. Scholarship values are back-end loaded to Years 2+ of a graduate program to recognize student transition from a class-intensive to a project-intensive program, and the corresponding ability to contribute more strongly to TRLabs' research and development (R&D) work with industry partners.
