Roland's background in design and development comes from his experiences both at the University of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST), where he graduated 2nd in his class. Working initially as a programmer analyst both for a Canadian corporation and as a freelance contract programmer, Roland developed WIN32 applications with an emphasis on data collection and report optimization for speed, as well building a variety of third-party database components and applications. Moving to Itracks initially as a programmer analyst Roland took on project management responsibilities in 2001, eventually becoming responsible for Itracks' software development, both product and support. Roland is a former member of the Saskatchewan Squash Association board of directors, and is active in many industry and community events.
