About Ms. Salma Rajwani

Salma Rajwani is one of the founding owners of Acrodex Inc., one of largest privately held information technology firms in Canada. She currently serves as the Chief Information Officer for Acrodex and its group of subsidiary companies. Prior to joining Acrodex (formerly CompCanada), Salma was the Executive Director for Information Technology for Alberta Advanced Education. During her tenure with the Alberta Government, she played a pivotal role in the collaboration and deployment of federal/provincial funded cross-government IT initiatives.

In addition to her CIO role, she is also responsible for Arcspan, a web-based professional services automation (PSA) solution that has been developed in-house by the Acrodex teams. Arcspan has recognized by the Aberdeen group as one of the top 25 PSA products in this marketspace today. Since its launch, the Arcspan product has received several recognitions including Microsoft’s innovative award in the business intelligence category. Today, Arcspan has been deployed in several organizations across North America as a web-hosted service for professional services organizations.

A native of Edmonton since 1972, Salma received her B.Sc. in Computing Science from the University of Alberta. She has served on several Canadian boards and committees including Women Business Owners of Canada, WISEST (Women in Science & Engineering) and Agakhan National Council. She has recently served on the University of Alberta Alumni Association and the “Technology For Success” committees. In 2007, Salma received the “Woman of Vision” recognition from Global TV and in 1999 / 2000 was selected as the finalist for the Ernst & Young Award for the Prairies region. Salma is a frequent media commentator and provides insights on innovative technology-driven solutions and related best practices.

As a business leader, Salma has served on several committees on both the local front as well as at the national level. In 2000, she served on the University of Alberta Alumni Council for 3 years. In 2003, she was selected as the Alberta-based member on the National Research Council and to-date. She also serves on the NRC-IIT board.
